I am pointing out illogical limit and creating a scenario to charge practically everyone. I gave lot of thinking hence presenting a logical picture to request you rectify it appropriately:

1. The distance one has to cover from entry punching to exit punching is more than one kilometer.(Measurement taken from google earth for chennai airport)

2. There are numerous speed breakers you cannot go beyond 10 kilometer per hour.

3. The time starts from the punching point and ends at exit point, this I observe the operator punches the moment car he sees approaches, this means it punches 5 to 10 seconds earlier.

4. If there is queue at exit punching point will add further additional time.

5. While talking to operator I come to know that system time is set manually which might bring additional discrepancies.

With this observation: the time taken to travel will take = minimum 6 minuite 10 sec (according to first 3 points)

With points 4 and 5 there are chances there indeterminate bias towards collection.

In earlier I saw that every second matters. This is ridiculous statement in response of previous comments. Is airport is racing place- you are creating a situation where public outcry or accidents will result in future. The best least count in this case should be minute and not seconds. If you are for seconds than no human intervention for any punching points, and no queue condition need to be fulfilled.

I hope you have understood the issue and a take a note of my observation and correct it appropriately, as today I was not wrong and charged around Rs 79/- for 7min 27 sec. The operators are failed to understand my point but I am sure you cannot disprove any of my point.

I went today in the morning to drop off my wife at the domestic terminal for her to take the 6.20AM Air India flight AI549 to Mumbai.

The first challenge was trying to get the trolley. Air India is from the 1st entrance and the trolleys were available at the 2nd entrance close to the Sangeetha Restaurant. It took a while to locate the trolley and bring it across.

As I was exiting, the toll screen showed Rs.67/-. When I gave a Rs.100/- note the counter guy returned Rs.30/- wanting to hold back Rs.3/- While Rs. 3/- is not a big sum, it is very clear cheating mechanism to take away the balance. The last time I went to drop my relative, the counter guy said Rs.70/- and I paid the same....din't bother to check the receipt for the amount. This time since I noticed it accidentally, I told the guy to return the balance. The first expression was a nasty look as though I was stealing his money. Then came the response "No change". The he asked me to give him Rs.2/- which I did not have. He gave me a sermon that I should tender exact change. I made it an issue and the guy gave me Rs.5/-

For a less than a 10 minutes drop at the airport, we are paying a sizable money. I don't think we deserve to listen to some guys at the counter and be cheated after all that.

Please make it a point to collect your balance which is your money and let them not cheat us.

i am rally sorry to say this but its the protocol of AAI for chennai airport for the first 7 mins they wont charge u..but every second after that counts

Just a hour ago I went to pick up my brother who arrived from UK (London-Delhi-Chennai)

I was shocked to find at the out gate parking booth told me to pay Rs.60 / as I had spent 8 minutes from the time i entered till exit. I did not need to wait for him but he was already outside just waiting for me to come-in. They got into the car and we immediately left. Please note it is apparent in receipt itself 20:43 pm entered & left by 20:51 pm - Duration is 7:40 minutes); Yet has to PAY RS 60/- & could not argue as they were tied after 15 hrs journey !!!! (Receipt 215109 / 23-12-2012.

Can some one from AAI & Garuda Aviation services PVT LTD look into this or let me know where to complain.

when comparingto other airports like other this chennai air port is very very dirty especially toilets and the mirrors are not in clear even. dirtiest air port i ever seen. very shame.

For dropping the persons from car at airport, they are permitting only 5 minutes. On 14th July 2012 I got down in the airport and sent the car back to my house. It was raining at that time and it was traffic jam near the dropping place. Car entered at 06 53 hrs and left at 07 02 hrs. The driver got struck up due to traffic jam and rain. They forced us to pay Rs 60 for the delay. So, Kindly permit slightly more time for dropping or please regulate the vechiles near the points.Or increase the timing in the raining period, Please do the need ful at your end.( Receipt no 94351 dated 14.7.2012.

                              Airport Authority of India invited the tender for parking charges collecting for parked vehicles entire the parking area under the terms and conditions of 60% area wise of normal car park its rate Rs 60 and 40% area wise of premium parking its rate RS 120. I have attached the tender documents below.

AAI permitted The Licensee shall provide computerized billing system as far as possible, not for TOLL GATE system.Refer page No 30 in the tender documents

                              Here Airport Authority of India officials also supporting this public robberry . The contractor Garuda Aviation Services Private Limited Mumbai spent 10 crores to Airport Authority of India for this unauthorised changes of TOLL system. The said Licensee collecting  3 crores per month , and is paying a license fee of RS 1.21crores per month under this unauthorised tender. The minimum license fee is 1.21 crores in the invited tender . The licensee paying same amount to AAI per month . IS THIS CALLED OPEN TENDER?

                              So kindly take a necessary action against to Airport Authority of India and Garuda Aviation Services Private Limited(Mumbai under world parking MAFIA , the investigation hand over to   CBI    and save the passengers and public in this cruel harassment ,public cheating and robbery inside the airport.

Indra Air Private Limited is the sole NSOP operator from Chennai airport, with its office inside the airport. It undertakes helicopter and plane charter flights all over the country.

The airport website is not updated at regular intervals. It is suggested that the authorities should ensure that the arrival and departures are updated at least every half an hour if not then and there!!!

Complaint about VAN/MINIBUS/COACH parking charges at CHENNAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.Regards

I parked the tempo traveller van TN 31 AE 0701[ AKR Group] on 3-11-2011 at 06.00 AM in ordinary car parking area beyond police station. They issued a machine receipt RS 100/- for premium parking . When I came back with my family at 11.45 AM they asked to pay RS 100/- more. But in AIRPORT AUTHORITY OF INDIA displayed tariff is VAN/MINIBUS/COACH Rs 70/-. The contractor KARNATAKA AVIATION SUPPORT SERVICE PVT LTD [KASS] Collecting unauthorised charges for van parking. So kindly take necessary action and suggest to fix boards indicating van /car premium and ordinary charges/ areas, also advice to licensee to avoid this types of robberies.

Chennai's airport is one of the oldest in India, and it does stand to that reputation. Enter the washroom and you will be back in 1950s!

The air conditioning is sometimes not sufficient even in the international departure! There is no internet connection availability.
