Comments 1 to 2 of 2 in the thread "runway conditions" (Bar River Airport):

Be very careful landing at this airport, runway 36 is extreamly bumpy and the other runway has signigicant surface conditions. you will be luck if you don't damage your plane. No courtesy car.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for the raving review of our runway! And yes, if you are planning on flying your F-22 in here, beware of our runway! We do have many types of aircraft that operate from our airport, ranging from J-3 Cubs, to Dash-8, to Caravans, and many other type of large and small aircraft.

Beyond that, I am sorry you had a bad experience at our airport. The runway does have undulations in it during the spring when the frost is coming out, and the adjacent runway is repaved down the centre strip, and is closed for half the year, winter, and is typically used as a taxi way. For the most part we are a private maintenance facility, that operates our own airport to facilitate the maintenace operations. But we have opened it up as a PPR airport for an alternative airport to use. We do not have any landing fees, or handling charges, or ties down fees, etc etc etc. For a courtesy vehicle, we do have one and I am happy to lend it our for you to for lunch or what ever you need! But, as many pilots and comercial air services utilize our maintenance facility, often the vehicle is in use, or scheduled for someone to use. And I appologize, but it is not intended for long term loans!

As far as damaging your aircraft, we have a full maintenance facility for you to use after your landings, and will be happy to provide a post landing inspection free of charge, but so far no one else has had that concern!

Please feel free to use our airport, all we ask is that you call ahead. Please be aware, time to time there is NORDO trafic in the area, and there is limited winter maitnenance, i.e. snowplowing. Please refer to your CFS for details. Bar River Airport - CPF2

If you have any other questions, Please contact Jeff Springer 705-248-2158

Thank you and Fly safe!
