&lt;p&gt;According to Wikipedia, this is the oldest airport in the Czech Republic, built during World War I by the Austro-Hungarian empire, then used by the Germans in World War II for an aircraft factory.  In 1918, when Czechoslovakia was created, it was the country&#039;s only airport.  The city bought it from the military in 2004.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
