Pakistan international will be ok

Sat, 25 Feb 2012

I believe there is nothing to say about its appreciation but i would suggest it should be international in real as i don't think any international flights are flying from Multan. I think the reason being is there is no load of people flying to or from Multan. But being a city that is famous for mangoes specially and for it's sweet called sohan halwa there has need to make it international so that we could transport them easily without any hassle of sending them to big cities like lahore, islamabad or karachi. Finally i would like to say Multan is the biggest city in the southern Punjab. Surrounded by many well known cities like Bahawalpur, khanewal, muzafargarh,D.G khan and many others so taking all those cities into notice and looking at their population we should think there needs to have some real International Airport. So the people will not have to travel all the way to Lahore, islamabad or karachi and they will fly right from their neighbouring city.

Zooming in, I can see that this paved stretch clearly has runway markings and numbers (18/36), so I think it's in the correct location.

Thank you for the feedback. OurAirports is a community-maintained site, like Wikipedia, so we're always looking for better information. Do you happen to know the correct location for Okara Airport? Or is this one of the situations (common in some other countries) where a stretch of highway is designated as an emergency landing strip?

You are showing a road as a runway.. Making fool to the people.

I won't recomment to use Sialkot airport at all. I have travelled to and from Sialkot airport 3 times and each experience is worse than other. Staff of sialkot airport openly ask for bribe... all the staff is corrupt. They open the luggage and ask the passenger to leave the items with them or pay a specific amount without any reason.

I absoloutely hate Sialkot Airport and now I have decided to use Lahore airport instead.

Sell BB's property worth billions, then name it after her.

Sell BB's property worth billions, then name it after her.

Lets name it 'Shaheed Muhajireen International Airport' in the memory of those refugees who lost their lives on their way to Pakistan in 1947. They left their neighbourhoods, their properties, their businesses all in support of an idea: PAKISTAN.

And I am not a muhajir; my family was always in these parts. But who is more Pakistani than those who sacrificed and jeopardised everything that could be of value (relatives, loved ones and wealth) in order to be Pakistanis.

I may be the only one why is it being named Ghandar Airport after a Budhist Kingdom, does not even sound like the airport is in Pakistan. Fatima Jinnah would have been more appropriate.

It is an excellent location, just 4 km from Islamabad Interchange of Lahore-Islamabad Motorway M-2, some 20 km from Zero Point Islamabad and Saddar Rawalpindi, that means only 20–25 minutes driving time of through network of motorways and highways. Being right on Motorway it is hardly at three hours drive from Lahore, Peshawar and Faisalabad, can be used in emergency / inclement weather

Reply to @shahid: this is wrong location of new islamabad airport.

The Airport is being construed by LTH JV. A joint venture of Lagan Construction of Ireland, Technical Associates and Habib Construction of Pakistan. updated progress of Airside and Landside works is available on www.hcs.com.pk

It is very amazing for the people who live in Faisalabad or abroad (related to Faisalabad) that why could not Faisalabad Airport could be upgraded inspite of having lot of potential. Faisalabad is a third biggest city of Pakistan & well known as Manchester of Asia in the world. It has population of almost 5 million people inwhich a large number of people works in many countries of the world & earning foreign exchange for their country. Beside it, Faisalabad is a center of activities related to export business. So as a large number of Faisalabadis have to travel for gulf, Europe, Canada and USA. PIA & other air companies want to start international flights from Faisalabad but unfortunately infrastructure for international operation is not available. So there is urgent need of a world class airport in Faisalabad. So that proper international operation could be started from here.
