Hi David. Thank you for putting this web site together...great information. I'm planning a floatplane trip (straight floats) from Victoria to Ottawa. Seems Alberta is a bit of a challenge to cross. Do you (or anyone else who reads this) have any ideas regarding interesting places in AB to stop for av gas, rest, food (we can only land on water). Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

David - Thank you for the warm welcome! I've always wanted to see a map with all the airports I've been to - this is really cool!
Quick question - Do you maintain any data on closed airports? I'd love to add some (e.g. Chicago Meigs) that I've flown into, but only in a way that is clear to other users that the airport is not operational. What is the protocol for this? Thanks in advance for your your response.
Hi Dave,
How about adding FBO, phone #'s and fuel info, would be helpful in planning
Thanks,
Paul
Thanks, this site is really interesting

Hello David, thanks for the welcome. I hope this site can help some of us doing research on airports in developing countries. The need I have is understanding the regulatory frameworks and compliance of three airports in Africa...these are: Lubango Airport and Cabinda Airport in Angola and Kinshasa in the DRC. Any stats on total enplanements and deplanements...a site you can recommend would be great..
Thanks
Mamsie

The zoom level edit of the map don't seem to save most of the time. Quite a few have to much zoom and Google Maps just show the gray tiles.
I have been able to change it a couple of times, but usually it stays the same.
There is a spelling error for a county in Norway. "Nord-Trøndelag" is the right way, not Nord-Trindelag.
Hi, David !
At Georgia regions menu is Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti missing, where is Zugdidi Airport: (http://www.ourairports.com/airports/GE-0002/)
And may be Abkhazia and South Ossetia mark out as a separate states ?
P.S. Now we have 42000 airports again ;)
I find that new "What you can do on this page" thing very obtrusive. Can we have an option to get a less obtrusive menu?
Hi again.
There is some airports which are written twice or which are added to lists but they are not airports. They should be deleted. How can we delete airports like these?
David, Here is something that I hacked together. Feel free to take a look or rip out code if you like. Its pretty messy as I am not a javascript hack. Also I'm sure you would know how to externalize my airport list to XML, and read it in on the fly. I've greped out all except asphalt runways from my (possibly out of date) airport list. Also the math was borrowed off the net somewhere, but I'm guessing its pretty accurate. http://tinyurl.com/kqorq2
hi david
at the moment, i can not change information of airports. can you help me?
hi David,
I've been using your website for several years now, but funnily enough never created an account until today.... it's a very simple and practical.....and useful website. Good job.

Great job. Is there a way of posting photos of the airports? Many of our airports are small little strips that aren't listed, it would be fun to include them and pictures.

Thanks for a great website. Now that I've managed to enter all the airports I've visited, I'd like to change my nickname to something more recognizable. Is there an easy way to do this? I also wanted to say thanks for making the slight adjustment to an airport I added (Lac Eon, PQ) as it wasn't until I added my second remote strip that I figured out how to pinpoint the location. When I went back to see if I could adjust it, I saw that the co-ordinates had been centered on the strip. Thanks.

That would be it. I think there was a lake nearby called Wallace lake.

David. I'm trying to add Sable Island off Nova Scotia. I thought I put in the correct co-ordinates. Maybe you can tweak it.
I was there for a month as a student some 25 years ago. Plus a flew Navajos over the island after I finished patrolling the Transatlantic
submerged communication cable. The island is deemed a sanctuary so only a handful get to see it. I was one of the lucky ones.
It's about 21 miles of sand so they an Islander on the sand.

no problem... I figure its easy to add them as I get the CFS each cycle. Only takes me a few minutes.
In reply to original message from david Fri, 24 Apr 2009 07:25:13 -0400
Thanks - I will. Just lately I have been trying to fly to more area airports just to keep sharp. No time right now to continue my IFR training - work, family etc. Maybe later in the summer.

thanks David - I am a new pilot and new airplane owner. Got my ticket early Nov 2008. Have about 80 hours so far and look forward to flying more as the weather improves. Will be adding 2 more airports to my list today. I like this since it is a graphical depiction of my progress.

No problem.. I've been meaning to do them on every CFS update, but have been lacking.
It's easy to note the airports that have closed... not so ones that are new.

Quick question. Is there any way I can embed my map showing only airports I've visited as a pilot only? Otherwise I'll just drop the airports visited as a pax. Great website by the way!
