Approach to the Airport from all surrounding valleys below 3000 ft/MSL is dangerously because of moving woodcuter cable-car! Descent below is possible when the Airfield is inside.
It's small, it's cosy, it's convenient. It takes you about 10 minutes from the time you've landed to the moment you've sat in the taxi. You have to love it. I just keep coming back.
I too managed to land here from Gatwick, with hours of delay in the middle of the night on an old AirBus 319 shaking rattling quivering scarry but alive
