Windy... potential for lots of x-wind!
Good place to stop if visiting SAV. Nice facilities, friendly. $13/night ramp fee.
Need repair... Visit Alex at Syrek Mee Aviation. Great service!
Good service; moderate fuel price
Recommend Tropicbird Flight School if you are wanting to rent an aircraft while on the Big Island. They have great aircraft including a 182; a G1000 172 and Diamond 120. Call Mike or Ashley to reserve an aircraft. Spectacular island flying!
This little airport on the very northwest tip of the big island is probably one of the most challenging landings in Hawaii. Expect a lot of turbulence on approach. A wind farm is adjacent to the airport -- go figure why they built an airport here... No based aircraft or fuel. Enjoy!
Get place to eat just a mile away from the airport -- Seaside Restaurant; on Kalanianaole Ave. Great seafood, a local favorite.
Great place to fly in and get some good food and spirits (for passengers). Park at FBO -- Epic Aviation; where you can walk through the gate to McCharacter's Irish Music and Sports Bar. Extensive menu of sandwiches, steaks, seafood and other entrees. Highly recommended. Enjoy Phone # (386) 409-7377
The airport is under new management in Steve Merritt, an experience pilot and manager. Don't miss the big annual fly-in -- High Flight 2010 on September 18-19, 2010. See airport website for details.
Sorry to report that the absolute best place to fly in and grab a good meal in the DC area has closed. The new FBO, APP, bought out there lease and is planning to make the space into offices. We'll miis this palace.
Stopped in here in December 2009 -- 100LL was under $4.00/gal. City/County run airport with no fuel competition. Busy airport with nice terminal facilities. Lots of NASCAR customers. No restaurant at the airport, but the do have crew cars. TSS
Better be up on your crosswind training when landing here... neat little airport with terminal. Unattended most of the time -- NO FUEL.
This is one of my favorite airport cafe places to go. Great food and service at reasonable prices. Family owned and operated for breakfast Saturday mornings, lunch and dinner Tuesday thru Friday! Closed Sunday and Mondays. Located on second floor above Volo FBO; east side of airport. Link to website is: http://www.hoppysrestaurant.com/
Stop in regularly for business... no ramp fees unless overnight. 100LL fuel prices are so-so.
If traveling from New England to Florida... recommend you stop here if you need fuel. One of the most competitive fuel prices I found -- and immediate service.
Great little place to eat right next to the terminal -- Suggest Sunday brunch... good selection. Lot's of local flavor. Open most days for breakfast and lunch. Highly suggested. TSS
Check out this aiport that opened in May 2009... closing former airport (RZZ)
LHZ has the cheapest fuel prices in eastern NC... and it is full service. Rob Southerland is new airport director.
Coming soon is a new restaurant on the mezzanine level of the terminal. I was going to try it out -- but it was not opening until the following week. Looks like you'll have a great view of incoming traffic, you will be able to eat inside in the AC or outside on the lanai. On the south border of the airfield is a great walk-in pilot shop where you can buy just about anything you need.
If you have a day to kick around... great location to fly the family to the beach. Park your aircraft, load up the beach chairs and walk across the highway to the beach. Check the weather carefully as winds make it difficult to land here. Not attended and no services available.
You should call ahead before flying in... no fuel available. Weather changes quickly -- no ASOS. Must register to park overnight, but stay is limited. No services available.
Stopped here at Landmark Aviation -- staff were extremely friendly. Free crew car available if you call ahead. Fuel a little pricey...
Anywhere in the vicinity... stop in here for fuel and fish. They'll give you a short ride into town to eat at Barbara Jeans Restaurant. Unbelievable value... you'll have to recheck your weight and balance after doing lunch at this place. They also have cheap self service fuel. Highly recommended.
Atlantic Aviation FBO just completed new terminal facility. Roomy crw space -- try out the massage loungers. Beautiful space... good service. Pleanty of ramp space for larger aircraft.

It was very cold, but FBO crew was helpful in arranging our rental car and hangar storage.
