This is the only public-use airport in Jefferson Co., MO. When the city decided to sell it, a group of pilots and investors raised money to buy it so that it can continue operating as an airport. There are plans to create an industrial park beside it, and to expand the runway to 5,000 feet (presumably to support business jets):
